Law enforcement report

¢ The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about a fatality about 5:20 p.m. Friday in the 300 block of North 450 Road in southwest Lawrence and discovered a 67-year-old man was dead. A preliminary investigation has deemed the death accidental, and no foul play was suspected, sheriff’s spokeswoman Lt. Kari Wempe said. The coroner will make the final determination. Wempe said the man was discovered dead outside when a concerned family member called a neighbor to check on him. The investigation is ongoing.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ A 54-year-old Lawrence man reported the passenger-side mirror and front left quarter panel had been damaged on a vehicle between May 20 and May 22 in the 1600 block of Edgehill Road. The damage estimate is $1,900. The type of vehicle was not given in the police report.

¢ An 18-year-old Lawrence woman reported the driver’s side of a vehicle had been damaged by a key between Tuesday and Wednesday in the 1800 block of Naismith Drive. The damage estimate is $1,500. The type of vehicle was not given in the police report.

¢ An employee of Subsonic Scooters reported a 2009 silver Kymco ‘People 50’ mo-ped valued at $2,100 had been stolen between Sept. 27 and Wednesday from the business, 629 N. Second St.

¢ A 24-year-old Lawrence man reported an Alpine car stereo, Apple iPod and Garmin GPS navigation unit were among items stolen from a vehicle Monday in the 900 block of Connecticut Street. The estimated loss is $1,280.
