Law enforcement report

¢ Lawrence police are investigating an incident in which a 37-year-old Lawrence woman was battered by a 19-year-old woman about 6:20 p.m. Tuesday in the 1600 block of Haskell Avenue. Police Sgt. Damon Thomas said the suspect was armed with a knife. He said the suspect and victim were known to each other. The victim was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital by a private vehicle for minor injuries. She was treated and released, according to hospital officials.

¢ A 25-year-old Lawrence woman was booked into Douglas County Jail on Wednesday on a charge of aggravated assault and a charge of theft less than $1,000. She was arrested at 3:25 p.m. in the 2300 block of Ridge Court. Further details were not available Wednesday night.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ A laptop computer valued at $1,219 was reported stolen from Learned Hall between April 30 and Aug. 20, according to a Kansas University Public Safety Office report.

¢ A Garmin Navigation System was one of several items reported stolen from a red Ford Escape in a parking lot outside Lewis Hall on the KU campus between Sunday and Monday. According to a KU Public Safety Office report, the estimated loss is $2,500.
