Giroux takes 9th; KU men’s golf 7th

? Blake Giroux shot a final-round 73 to turn in the first top-10 finish of his Kansas University golf career, and the Jayhawks placed seventh Tuesday at the Cardinal Intercollegiate at the Cardinal Club. Giroux shot 69-68-73-210 to tie for ninth.

KU fired a final-round 286 for its third straight under-par round of the event. The Jayhawks finished with 857 strokes. Host Louisville won the team title with 834.

Other KU results: Nate Barbee, 211, tied for 15th; Walt Koelbel, 213, tied for 18th; Ian Anson, 223, tied for 48th; and Andrew Storm, 226, tied for 58th.
