Residents reappointed to fire training panel

Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical Chief Mark Bradford and James Long, director for outreach at Kansas University Continuing Education, were reappointed by Gov. Kathleen Sebelius to four-year terms on the state’s Fire Service Training Commission.

“Firefighters serve an important role in our communities, helping Kansans when they need it most,” Sebelius said. “This commission provides oversight of the training programs for our firefighters so they have the tools to perform at their best.”

Newly appointed members of the commission, which meets quarterly, are Frederick Mosher of Merriam and Karl McNorton of Topeka. John Lloyd of Wellington and Bob Renton of Lenexa were also reappointed to the commission.
