Snow, business

To the editor:

I was incensed to read in the paper that some were proposing to eliminate the law requiring people to remove snow and ice from their sidewalks. Jonathan Douglass says, “I think people want to do the right thing.” Obviously they don’t or they would have done it already.

It’s not only the difficulty walking over the snow and ice. The stores put down sand so no one will slip and sue them. Then, when everything melts, it is a filthy mess.

What I suggest is going easy on homeowners, who might not be physically capable of shoveling snow, but cracking down hard on businesses.
