Area residents wanting to send a message to troops fighting overseas this holiday season have a chance this weekend to do just that.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Crown Automotive, 3400 Iowa St., camera crews from Sunflower Broadband’s Channel 6 will be on hand to videotape messages to send to troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The public is also invited to bring items that will be sent to the troops.

There will also be a registration to win other items, including tickets to a Kansas University men’s basketball game.
