KVF U-10 Champs: Kaw Valley Force U-10 girls won the Heartland Invitational last weekend in Olathe. Team members are Skylar Drum, Olivia Lemus, Sabrea Platz, Mia Romano, Margaret Lockwood, Rachael Schuck, Abi Hummel, April Hodges, Carson Drake and Natalie Clarke. Trudy Drum is manager and Riny de Boer coach.

¢ Terranova Titlist: Mark Terranova won a scorecard playoff with Conrad Roberts to capture Sunday’s weekly Jayhawk Golf Club tournament at Alvamar. Both Terranova and Roberts shot a one-under 71. Chris Anderson was third with a 77. In net scoring, John Egner was low with a 67, followed by Mike Naegele 70 and Stephen Morgan 71.

¢ Boston Qualifiers: Erika Nilles-Plumlee and Kelli Bates of Lawrence finished sixth and seventh, respectively, in the women’s 30-34 age group at the Kansas City Marathon. Both qualified for the Boston Marathon. Also, Molly McVey finished 21st in the women’s 25-29 category.

¢ Ninth-Grade Baseball: A meeting for ninth-grade boys interested in playing for Lawrence High’s baseball team next spring will be at 3:20 p.m. today at Central Junior High. For information, e-mail Brad Stoll at bstoll@usd497.org.
