Lawrence city commission sets meeting on 31st Street
In an abbreviated election night meeting, city commissioners on Tuesday tentatively set a time to meet about a major expansion of 31st Street.
City commissioners agreed to have a joint study session with Douglas County commissioners at 9 a.m. Monday at the Douglas County Courthouse, 11th and Massachusetts streets.
City and county commissioners are considering a joint project that would extend 31st Street from Haskell Avenue to County Route 1057 east of Lawrence.
Both groups have appointed a joint citizens committee that has been studying possible route options.
