KU volleyball loses 3-1 to K-State

Despite a balanced defense that included two players in double-figure digs, Kansas volleyball lost, 3-1, to Kansas State in the annual Sunflower Showdown. The Jayhawks fell, 25-17, 25-17, 23-25, 25-14.

The loss dropped KU to 10-12 on the season and 4-9 in conference play. KSU improved to 20-4 overall and 10-3 in the Big 12.

Sophomore Melissa Manda paced the Jayhawks’ back row with 12 digs, while juniors Melissa Grieb and Katie Martincich contributed 10 and nine, respectively.

On offense, junior Brittany Williams fired a team-high nine kills in the contest.
