Dillon Stores Division announces the official retirement of two Dillons associates.

Mike Klopfenstein, produce second at the Dillons store at 3000 W. Sixth St., Lawrence, is retiring after 32 years of service. He started his Dillons career in 1976 as a grocery store clerk at the Dillons that used to be at the corner of 27th and Iowa streets. His last day of work was May 1.

Also retiring is Richard Meyer, produce manager at the Dillons at 3000 W. Sixth St.

Meyer’s retirement is effective June 2, ending a 43-year career that began when he was hired in 1964 as a clerk at a Dillons in Topeka. His last day of work was May 5.
