The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will offer a one-day boating safety class to boat owners on Saturday.

The class will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Information Center at the entrance to Clinton Lake State Park.

The course is free and purchase of a textbook is optional.

A closed-book examination will be given at the end of the course.

Successful completion of the class will satisfy the state requirements for individuals who are age 12 to 20 to operate a boat.

Pre-registration is required.
