From the Lawrence Daily World for May 11, 1908: “The May Music Festival for 1908 came to its close in a blaze of glory Saturday night with the rendition of ‘Faust.’ The audience was the largest that ever gathered in Lawrence for any musical event. : The university law school is almost ready to send out its annual consignment of lawyers. Already a number of the graduates say they intend to get into the races for county attorney jobs in their home counties.”
