Attorney general appoints treasurer

? Kansas Attorney General Stephen Six has appointed a treasurer, which allows him to raise campaign funds.

Six named Robert Riordan, a Topeka attorney, his treasurer.

Six, of Lawrence, was appointed in January by Gov. Kathleen Sebelius to finish the term of former Attorney General Paul Morrison, who resigned in the wake of a sex scandal.

The term expires in 2010. Six is expected to run for the office although he has declined to state his intentions outright.
