Troupe an asset

To the editor:

As a former tour booking manager and past and current fan of Ric Averill and the Seem-To-Be Players, I have seen a lot of their plays for children over the years. Ric’s skillful and entertaining adaptation of Mark Twain’s classic, Tom Sawyer, was one of the best. Imaginative sets, live music, and great acting by community actors as well as those from Ric’s troupe made this a great event.

Years ago, it was my daughters who enjoyed this great homegrown entertainment. Last Sunday, it was my granddaughters who along with me saw the characters from Tom Sawyer come to life under Ric and company’s creative efforts. I don’t believe many towns in Kansas or elsewhere in the United States can boast about having such high-quality theater for young people available.
