The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man who drowned in Lone Star Lake on Saturday as Gerald A. Hedenberg, 67, of Pleasant Hill, Mo.

Hedenberg was fishing with his son-in-law, 46-year-old Emmett Call, of Eudora, when heavy winds caused their boat to capsize. Hedenberg drowned as he and Call struggled to swim back to shore in the cold water. The county coroner has not yet ruled on the cause of death.
