Kansas Bureau of Investigation is looking into the death of a Franklin County Jail inmate.

About noon Monday, Eddie Brannan, 38, Ottawa, was found unresponsive in his cell. Officers called for assistance and administered aid to Brannan, who was later declared dead.

A statement from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department said an autopsy will be performed by Frontier Forensics in Topeka.

All in-custody deaths are investigated by KBI.
