Independence Inc. loses operations leader

Tony Peterson, assistant director of operations at Independence Inc., recently announced that he would be leaving the organization after 22 years.

Peterson started work at Independence Inc. in 1986 as a receptionist, then went on to become a media specialist, assistant ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) specialist, and promotions manager before his move into operations.

“Tony was always someone you could ask about anything relevant to policy or procedure,” said Jim McCrary, assistive technology coordinator. “He was a wealth of information about our operations.”

Added Tanya Dorf-Brunner, executive director: “I don’t think Independence Inc. would have provided the kind of quality service to the community over the years without Tony.”
