Old Home Town – 100 years ago

From the Lawrence Daily World for June 17, 1908: “Tom Marshall, an Indian boy about 10 or 11 years old, was instantly killed by a charge of electricity from a live wire he touched by accident at Haskell Institute last night. This is the third death by a live wire here within the past three days. : Train service throughout the area is steadily returning to normal after all the damage and loss caused of late by the heavy flooding in most locales around here.”
