¢Nathanael Fowler, Lawrence, was named to the president’s list for the spring 2008 semester at Cloud County Community College, Concordia.

¢Lawrence Memorial Hospital Auxiliary’s annual meeting and volunteer recognition was April 29. Gene Meyer, LMH president and CEO, was the keynote speaker for the event. The auxiliary selected officers for the coming year. They are: Joanne Hurst, president; Lew Nolan, vice president; Dianna Nelson, secretary; and Sharon Stultz, treasurer.

Several volunteers were recognized for outstanding service or awards:

Marguerite Lockwood Award: Mary Lou Holcomb, volunteer of the year for service in the surgery waiting room.

Ryan Kanost Award: Todd Crawford, outstanding student volunteer for his volunteer service in the Same Day Surgery Department and with special events at the hospital.

Years of service awards: Jackie Shmalberg, 40 years; Gaye Groene, 35 years; Bea Carlson, 30 years; and Martha Jane Kukuk, 25 years.

During 2007, more than 766 volunteers contributed their time and talents at LMH. Total hours contributed in 2007 were 51,243, the equivalent of 25 full-time employees. The auxiliary also gave the hospital $50,000 as part of a pledge of $300,000 to the new emergency department.
