Douglas County Bank will close its downtown branch Friday morning so employees may attend the funeral of Joe Kelly, a former bank director and chief executive officer.

Kelly, 84, died Monday.

The bank’s offices and lobby at 300 W. Ninth St. will be closed from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Friday. The drive-through lanes and all other branch locations will be open.

Kelly’s funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 1234 Ky.

Kelly served as the bank’s chief executive officer from 1982 until his retirement in 1994. He continued to serve on the bank’s board of directors until January 2006.
