423 advance votes cast

Elections officers said Thursday that the first week of advance voting before the Aug. 5 primary election has been relatively busy.

At the close of Thursday, 423 people had cast ballots either in person or by mailing them to the Douglas County Clerk’s office.

Advance ballots can be cast at the Douglas County Courthouse, 1100 Mass., until noon Aug. 4 before the primary election, when voters in each party will decide who gets to move on to the November general election in races for the Douglas County Commission, Congress and Kansas State Board of Education.
