Club needs mentors for children

The Boys and Girls Club needs 60 volunteers to serve as mentors in the afterschool program Priceless Pals. Each mentor will be paired with a child to provide assistance with homework. Volunteers must commit to a minimum of one hour a week for one school year.

¢ Douglas County CASA is looking for a volunteer tutor for a second-grade student who needs assistance with reading, writing and spelling. Contact Derek Moore at dareekku@gmail.com.

¢ Douglas County AIDS Project needs volunteers to provide practical and emotional support to clients through direct service. Duties may include transportation, companionship, light housekeeping, pet-sitting, respite care, yard work and other needs. DCAP also seeks volunteers to assist with various activities at the office. ¢ The Downtown Lawrence Farmers’ Market seeks volunteers to assist with a wide variety of duties, including serving at the Market Information Booth, promotion of market events, market photographer, music coordinator and graphic designer.
