From the Lawrence Daily World for July 2, 1908: “The manual training school building bonds totaling $40,000 have been registered in Topeka and will be brought here this evening for delivery to purchasers tomorrow. The list of buyers is to be distributed tomorrow. : According to Dr. F.H. Snow, the university weather expert, the past June was the wettest on record with an official total of moisture of 10.57 inches, more than twice the normal for the month. : C.V. Crouch has filed a mortgage for $3 million for right of way property to complete the financing of his electric line from Coffeyville to Iola. The road will run north from Iola to Lawrence.”
