Topeka man pleads guilty in robberies

One of two men arrested last year in a series of armed robberies in Lawrence pled guilty on Monday to charges of attempted robbery and aiding a felon.

Javier Cox, 18, Topeka, will be sentenced Feb. 26. He is free on bond.

The second suspect, Mario Jordan, 19, also of Topeka, is set to have a preliminary hearing March 11 on five counts of aggravated robbery and two counts of attempted aggravated robbery. Jordan remains in Douglas County Jail on $150,000 bond.

The two men were arrested in November after robberies at two Kwik Shops.
