Law enforcement report

¢ Lawrence police responded to a medical emergency that was originally thought to be an intentional stabbing Saturday night. About 8 p.m., police and Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical units were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of Elm Street. Lawrence police Sgt. MarkWarren said two men, a 29-year-old and a 21-year-old, were “rough-housing” in the residence and Paul Sharp, 29, accidentally rolled across a knife and his leg was lacerated. Sharp was taken to the Lawrence Memorial Hospital emergency room. Further details were unavailable Saturday.

Injury accidents

¢ A 38-year-old Tonganoxie woman was taken to Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan., after she was injured in a two-car accident Saturday. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, about 11 a.m., Cynthia D. Winborn was driving a 1992 Chevrolet truck east on Kansas Highway 16, on the west edge of Tonganoxie city limits. Also bound on the highway was Larry Burns, 57, Tonganoxie. Burns’ 1998 Ford Expedition reportedly slowed and yielded to traffic in front of him when Winborn’s vehicle struck him from the rear. Winborn’s condition was unknown Saturday. Burns was possibly injured, according to the report, but he was not taken to a hospital.
