Anyone interested in participating in this year’s American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Douglas County is invited to attend a kickoff event Thursday at Free State High School, 4700 Overland Drive.

Information for new team captains will be from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Returning team captains may attend an informal meeting from 6:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The 2008 Relay For Life will be at 7 p.m. June 13 at the Free State High School track. The fundraising event honors cancer survivors and victims, with teams walking throughout the night, along with activities, food, music and the lighting of thousands of luminaria.
