Improvements to fairgrounds on agenda
A capital improvement plan for the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds will be discussed during the County Commission meeting tonight.
Since June, a fairgrounds committee has been studying short-term and long-term improvements needed at the fairgrounds.
Some of the committee’s recommendations include renovating kitchen space in Building 21 to make it an indoor and outdoor concession stand; an open pavilion on the eastern side of the community building; a campground with showers and restrooms; and an outdoor amphitheater.
Also needed are improvements to signage, lighting, drainage and traffic patterns.
Commissioners meet at 6:35 p.m. on the second floor of the courthouse, 1100 Mass.
