Grateful fans

To the editor:

This is to the couple sitting in Section 11 Row 15 Seats 7 and 8 at the Dec. 29 Jayhawk game vs. Yale.

I’m Lindy Hill from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the individual you gave your tickets to that night after my wife, sister-in-law and I were removed from our seats for sitting in the wrong section. We had general admission tickets, and arrived 45 minutes early to the game to ensure our seats. The usher instructed us where to sit, but the seats were not GA. Long story short, the game sold out and we were left with no seats.

The response we got from crowd control was that they were sorry, and there was nothing they could do. We had just driven 386 miles (5 hours and 45 minutes) to watch the Jayhawks, but we experienced the worst display of professionalism from the crowd control officials. Their gross mishandling of the situation brought my wife and sister-in-law to tears. You, however, stepped in to make up for the university’s shortcomings, and for that I am forever thankful.

I was so caught up by your display of kindness and the excitement that finally we could watch the game. I did not obtain your name to properly thank you. This forum is the only way for me and my family to express our gratitude. It is with great regret that we do not have more to offer you than a sincere thank-you. You truly displayed Jayhawk pride.

Lindy Hill,

Sioux Falls, S.D.
