Wind chill advisory in effect until 10 a.m.

The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a wind chill advisory for Douglas County until 10 a.m.

The combination of single-digit temperatures and 20-mph winds from the northwest has resulted in a wind chill of about 15 to 20 degrees below zero, according to the weather service.

The advisory recommends dressing warmly for the weather, as exposed skin can suffer from frostbite in a short amount of time.
