From the Lawrence Daily World of Aug. 30, 1908: “Lawrence truly is in the midst of a building boom, with several hundreds of thousands of dollars involved in local projects. The university has had more building this summer than ever before, Haskell Institute is spending well over $20,000 for various projects, a new Christian Church is under way and more than $50,000 is being spent on the new Manual Training High School.”
