Law enforcement report
¢ A 20-year-old Kansas University student reported damage to the side mirrors of her Nissan Mariner overnight on Aug. 16. The car was parked on Gower Place; damage is estimated to be $1,000.
¢ A 36-inch Sony flatscreen television was reported stolen from the 2500 block of Crestline Place on Aug. 18. It is valued at $3,000.
¢ A 31-year-old Topeka man reported $1,845 of items stolen from the 2500 block of Prairie Elm Drive overnight on Aug. 17. A Craftsman tool set, a Dell laptop computer, a Canon digital camera and three arrow tips were among the missing items.
¢ A 46-year-old Sacramento, Calif., man reported $20,000 of U.S. currency stolen from the 2700 block of Lankford Drive. The incident occurred between noon on Aug. 14 and 1 p.m. on Aug. 15.
¢ A 25-year-old Olathe man reported more than $1,800 of items missing on Aug. 17. A MacBook laptop computer, a mobile phone charger and a backpack were reported missing from the 900 block of New Hampshire Street sometime between the evening of Aug. 16 and the afternoon of Aug. 17.
¢ A 22-year-old Fort Riley man reported $2,300 of items missing from the 1900 block of West 31st Street in the early hours of Aug. 17. A black MacBook computer and a Magellan GPS system were stolen.
¢ More than $7,000 of construction materials were stolen overnight on Aug. 13 from the 1000 block of Wagon Wheel Road. A 34-year-old Lawrence man reported items including nailers, tool kits and job site radios missing.
¢ A 2008 GMC Sierra 4x4 valued at $29,000 was reported missing from the 1000 block of Illinois Street overnight on Aug. 16. An Apple iPod, personal checks and several sets of vehicle keys were also reported stolen. The truck was recovered Aug. 17.

I know some one that had a thousand stolen from their backpack only to have the LPD investigate the victim for having 1K in cash. Seems they were profiled as a drug dealer when thet reported the crime. That being the case, this 20K must make the victim one of the largest drug dealers in history of the local LE.
