Drivers on Kansas Highway 10 will face more minor traffic delays beginning Monday, as crews start work on their fourth bridge-repair project along Kansas Highway 10 in Johnson County.

The latest job – on the eastbound bridge that crosses railroad tracks about 2.5 miles east of Kansas Highway 7 – is scheduled to begin Monday. Crews will start by repairing shoulders that lead up to the bridge. A week later, they intend to squeeze traffic into one lane to accommodate repairs to the bridge deck.

About 30,000 vehicles cross the bridge each day.

Lane work already has started on three other bridges on K-10. Two of them – spanning Cedar Creek and Camp Creek – are for traffic headed east; the other, crossing Edgerton Road, is for traffic headed west.

Work on all four projects is being done weekdays during daylight hours, and will be expected to last into early fall.
