Old Home Town – 100 years ago

From the Lawrence Daily World for Aug. 10, 1908: “A number of warrants were issued in court today due to force local people to cut weeds. Some areas are overgrown to the point of non-recognition and fines soon will be levied for those who do not comply with the warrants to clear the regions. : While local corn crops feasted on the recent rain, it caused a great deal of rot and hurt a number of peach crops. However, many are having good years and some peaches are of excellent quality.”
