Saturday Shredfest set for Peoples Bank

Peoples Bank will conduct Shredfest 2008 from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday outside the bank at Sixth Street and Wakarusa Drive.

People may bring up to five boxes of old documents and other paper items – excluding newspapers and newsprint – they would like to have shredded in a secure manner. Goals for the free event are to help people reduce their chances of becoming victims of identity theft and also to protect the environment, as all shredded materials will be recycled.

The first 50 cars that bring items to be shredded will receive a cloth grocery bag.
