Les Hannon, a retired engineer, is winner of CornerBank’s Community Cornerstone Award for April.

CornerBank honored Hannon during a public reception Wednesday, and contributed $100 on his behalf to First Step at Lake View.

Hannon’s strategic-planning skills have assisted several organizations in Lawrence, including development of a long-range plan for DCCCA that helped generate financing for a center at Clinton Parkway and Kasold Drive. Hannon also has helped foster planning discussions and presentations addressing the city of Lawrence.

Hannon served six years on the city’s Board of Zoning Appeals.

His volunteer service includes working the reception desk for American Red Cross blood drives and volunteering at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, where he recently completed two years as president of the Auxiliary.
