KU, Haskell team for symposium

The 500 Nations Bridges to the Future Program will sponsor the eighth annual Kansas University-Haskell Indian Nations University Undergraduate Research Symposium today.

The symposium will be from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Tecumseh Hall on Haskell’s campus. Students will present research on topics such as biochemistry, cell biology, chemical engineering, civil engineering, environmental studies, microbiology and psychology.

The 500 Nations Bridges to the Future Program is funded by the National Institutes of Health and encourages minority students at both universities to pursue careers in biomedical science.

Students from Lawrence who will present their research are Jason Koontz, Katrina McClure, Pemecewan Fleuker and Johnie Gallagher.
