John Gladman, of John Gladman Photography, Lawrence, was named 2008 Kansas Photographer of the Year and received other awards during the Heart of America Professional Photographers Conference this month in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Gladman received first place in Group Portraiture, first and second place in Portraiture of Men, and the Fuji Masterpiece and the American Society of Photographers State Elite awards.

In January, Gladman received a master’s degree of electronic imaging and a master’s degree of photographic craftsman from the Professional Photographers of America.
