Law enforcement report

¢ Lawrence police arrested a 19-year-old Lawrence man Tuesday in the 2100 block of Quail Creek Drive after a physical altercation between him and a roommate.

Julian E. Wheeler is being held on a $7,500 bond in Douglas County Jail. He was charged with aggravated battery and intentional and physical contact. His first appearance was Thursday and he has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Tuesday.

According to police, about midnight Tuesday, the victim and Wheeler were having a verbal disagreement inside their residence. The victim reported Wheeler walked outside and returned with a large stick. The victim opened the door, walked away and was hit in the back. The victim was taken to the Lawrence Memorial Hospital emergency room and was treated and released.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ A gold 2003 Chevrolet Impala, valued at $6,000, was reported stolen Wednesday. A 20-year-old Lawrence man reported it stolen from the 2500 block of Crestline Court between midnight and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

¢ A 23-year-old Lawrence man reported a door and frame of a residence in the 2500 block of Century Drive was criminally damaged Tuesday. The damage estimate is $1,000.

¢ A 24-year-old Lawrence man reported a 2007 orange Genuine mo-ped was stolen from the 700 block of Vermont Street. The mo-ped is valued at $1,600. The incident reportedly occurred between 11 p.m. Monday and 1 p.m. Tuesday.

¢ Several items were reported stolen from Jayhawker Towers on Tuesday while the victim was asleep in the room, according to a Kansas University Public Safety Office report. The items are a digital camera, iPod and cash. Estimated loss is $1,143.

¢ According to a KU Public Safety Office report, someone broke into a vehicle and stole $1,000 worth of stereo equipment. The crime reportedly occurred in the parking lot of the Burge Union between 10 a.m. April 2 and 10 a.m. Wednesday.

¢ A personal laptop computer and an external hard drive were reported stolen from a room in Haworth Hall, according to a KU Public Safety Office report. Estimated loss is $1,180.
