¢ PP&K on Tap: Youths ages 8-15 are eligible for the NFL Punt, Pass and Kick competition at 8 a.m. on Saturday at the First United Methodist Church fields on the southwest corner of K-10 and West Sixth Street. ¢ Sandrat Run: The Sandrat Trail Run will be Oct. 7 on the Kansas River trails. The 9.5-mile event will start and finish at the Ballard Center in North Lawrence. For information, go to www.runlawrence.org or call 842-4351.

¢ City Youth Deadline: Registration deadline is today for the city’s K-6 youth basketball program. For information, go to www.lprd.org.

¢ KU Baseball Camps: Kansas University baseball will conduct two camps this fall. A youth camp will run through Oct. 21 with three sessions to choose from. The other camp will be Oct. 6-7 and will be for 17- and 18-year-olds looking for college exposure. For information, call 864-7907.

¢ Platt, Walters Top Golfers: William Platt and Drew Walters shared top honors at the Jayhawk Golf Club net event Sunday at Alvamar Public. Each shot 69. Kent Hodgson (72) was next and was followed by Mike Farve, Mark Terranova and Bud Stagg, who ted with 74s. Terranova’s 74 was low gross.

¢ Local Half Marathoners Shine: Lawrence’s Alison Donnelly won her age group (20-24) and placed 15th overall with a time of 1:35:58 at the Lewis&Clark Half Marathon on Sunday. Jake Hope was fourth in men’s 55-59 in 1:34:52. Ellen Young was seventh in 50-54 in 1:58:45. John Frydman was 25th in his age group in 1:40:26, and Brad Bond was 50th in his age group in 1:58:35.

¢ Rebels Champs: The 14-U Kansas Rebels won the Fall Ball Classic AAA/Major baseball championship Sept. 15-16 at the 3&2 Baseball Complex in Shawnee. Team members were Blake Bergmann, Sean Cesare, Reece Conklin, Zach Losey, David Pierce, C.J. Roush, Montana Samuels, Tyler Self, Cameron Solko, Chandler Thomann, Elliot Vaughn and Jake Vinoverski. Coaches are Randy and Nolan Samuels, Scott Thomann and Chuck Vinoverski.

¢ Clinton Run On Tap: A 5K run and one-mile fun walk to benefit the Clinton Fire Department Auxiliary will be held Oct. 27 at Bloomington Swimming Beach at Clinton Lake. The seventh-annual event will begin at 9 a.m. For information, call Dennis Snodgrass at 865-8526.

¢ Hole in One: Mary Kay Stephens, of Lawrence, carded a hole in one Sunday at Eagle Bend Golf Course. Stephens’ ace came on the par-3 third hole, where she used a 9-iron. Witnesses were Bob Stephens, Mike Lisher and Mike Lechtenberg.
