Afghanistan’s president to speak at K-State

? Afghan President Hamid Karzai will deliver a Landon Lecture at Kansas State University this month, the university announced Sunday.

Karzai’s lecture will be either in the late afternoon on Sept. 26 or the morning of Sept. 27, depending on his final travel arrangements, the school said.

“We’re pleased to bring the first elected president of Afghanistan to Kansas State University,” Charles Reagan, chairman of the Landon Lecture Series, said in a written statement. “Hamid Karzai joins a distinguished list of prominent current and former U.S. presidents and heads of state – most recently Presidents Bush and Clinton and former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev – who have delivered Landon Lectures at K-State.”

The lecture is free and open to the public, although a ticket is required. It will be given at Bramlage Coliseum.
