The Friends of Hidden Valley, an organization that supports Hidden Valley Camp in western Lawrence, will conduct its annual meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday at the camp, 3420 Bob Billings Parkway.

Please meet at Evelyn’s Attic (the cache). Bob Russell and Margaret Townsend will lead the group on the newly formed Stream Trail. Dinner and the meeting will follow in the Southern Shade Shelter.

The agenda includes reports from committees, highlights of the past year, goals for 2008, Honor Bench recipient, Volunteer of the Year, the Hiking Award and election of new Board of Directors members. The meeting will go on rain or shine.

Friends of Hidden Valley are always looking for new volunteers and members to help support the camp though donations and workdays. The public is invited to a workday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the camp.

¢Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts in the area are expected to hit the streets beginning today to sell popcorn in support of local Scouting units. The sale, sponsored by the Heart of America Council, is the one coordinated areawide fundraising project that helps units earn money for trips, projects and equipment.

Until Oct. 27, Scouts in uniform will be going door-to-door as well as setting up at local businesses to sell Trails End Popcorn.
