PP&K on Tap: Youths ages 8-15 are eligible for the NFL Punt, Pass and Kick competition at 8 a.m. on Sept. 22 at the First United Methodist Church fields on the southwest corner of K-10 and West Sixth Street. Anthony Links Winner: Rich Anthony notched a 68 and won Sunday’s Jayhawk Golf Club weekly net tournament at Alvamar by four strokes. Tied for second with 72s were Ed Scholtes, Don Schulenberg and Chris Anderson. Third place went to Curt Anderson with a 73. Sharing fourth place with 74s were Pete Whitenight, Tom Dennis, Mike Stein, Tom Taylor and Jeff Miller. Chris Anderson’s even-par 72 was the low gross score.

Sandrat Run: The Sandrat Trail Run will be Oct. 7 on the Kansas River trails. The 9.5-mile event will start and finish at the Ballard Center in North Lawrence. For information, go to www.runlawrence.org or call 842-4351.

KU Baseball Camps: Kansas University baseball will conduct two camps this fall. A youth camp will run through Oct. 21 with three sessions to choose from. The other camp will be Oct. 6-7 and will be for 17- and 18-year-olds looking for college exposure. For information, call 864-7907.

Youth Soccer Selectee: Daniel Chance, a sophomore at Free State High, has been selected to participate in the Region II Olympics development program of U.S. Youth Soccer. Chance is one of only three youths from Kansas chosen from among a 13-state area.
