Chicago markets
Wheat prices surged Tuesday on the Chicago Board of Trade. Wheat for December delivery climbed 30 cents to $8.055, the daily limit permitted; December corn gained 13.25 cents to $3.5325; December oats rose 7.75 cents to $2.625; November soybeans rose 25 cents to $9.075. On the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, October live cattle rose 0.72 cent to 97.62 cents; September feeder cattle gained 1.38 cents to $1.189; October lean hogs added 0.25 cent to 67.07 cents; February pork bellies added 0.02 cent to 90.42 cents.
