Injury accidents

¢ A 28-year-old man was severely injured when his car went off the road and crashed into a tree Sunday afternoon, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Andrew Craig, of Kansas City, was flown to Kansas University Hospital for treatment.

The accident occurred just after 2 p.m. on U.S. Highway 56 about a mile and half west of Baldwin Junction. The man was heading east when the car left the lane, went into a ditch and hit a tree. The Highway Patrol stated it didn’t know what caused Craig to leave his lane. He was driving a 1996 Chevrolet and wasn’t wearing a seat belt.

No passengers were in the car.

Condition reports

¢ A 20-year-old Baker University student remains in critical condition, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. The woman was the driver in a one-vehicle accident on County Road 1055 Sunday afternoon. She was flown to Kansas University Hospital. The sheriff’s office is waiting to release her name.
