The University Bridge Club announces results from its Aug. 25 meeting. Hosts were Walt and Jo Anne Hicks with Marc and Cora Kuepker.

Blue winners were Willie Stoltenberg, first; Al Smith, second; Harold Riehm, third; Virginia Williams, fourth; and Roy Cropp, fifth. Pink winners were Jane Golden, first; Mary Jo Spotts, second; Florence McNicoll, third; Edna Galle, fourth; and Myrna Ikenberry, fifth.

The Wednesday Afternoon Bridge Club played a Mitchell movement at nine tables directed by Chris Lane on Aug. 22. The North-South players were led by Adelaide Nyquist and Ed Howard, followed by Wanda Durbin and Suzanne Wassmer. Chris Lane and Carol Ball placed third in A and first in B, with Catherine Blumenfeld and Lois Clark at fourth in A, second in B and first in C. Phyllis Brownlee and Virginia Eddy were second in C.

The East-West players had a tie for first place between Shari Krentzel and Nita Scales with Klee Zaricky and Betty Collier. Ajit Sampat and Grant Sutton placed third in A and second in C, with Paul Heitzman and David Piro in fourth place.

The Thursday Morning Bridge Club played a Howell movement directed by Chris Lane on Aug. 23. Barbara McCorkle and Lester Dalton took first place, followed by Florine Creek and Virginia Seaver.

Chris Lane and Pat Lechtenberg placed third, and Virginia Eddy and Ajit Sampat tied for fourth place with Marilyn Martin and Madelyn Jenks.

The Friday Afternoon Bridge Club played a Mitchell movement at 10 tables directed by Virginia Seaver on Aug. 24. North-South players were led by James Gunn and Ed Howard, followed by Lester Dalton and Mary Fenlon. Adelaide Nyquist and Gary Joyce placed third in A and first in B and C, with Harry Shaffer and Lois Clark placing fourth.

The East-West players were led by Florine Creek and Jean Otney at first in A and B, followed by Grant Sutton and Carol Kempke at second in A and B. Ann Thompson and Carol Ball were third in A and B plus first in C. Lynn Hui and Catherine Blumenfeld were fourth in A and B, with Bobby Patton and Ajit Sampat at second in C.

The Monday Evening Bridge Club played a Mitchell movement at 12 tables directed by Virginia Seaver on Aug. 27. The game was a special North American Pairs qualifying round.

The North-South players were led by Larry Bodle and Kent McCullough at first in A and B, with James Zhang and Harry Shaffer at second in A and B. Virginia Seaver and Klee Zaricky were third in A and B, while Lois Clark and Jeff Nash were fourth in A and B. Jerry Sloan and Emily Foster were fifth in A and B, while Adelaide Nyquist and Grant Sutton were first in C. Marti Hartman and Pat Burgstahler were second in C.

The East-West players were led by Paul Heitzman and Fred Lambert at first in A and B, with Mary Fenlon and Julia Dalton at second in A and B. Terry Tolar and Lynn Hui were third in A and B, with Eldon Herd and Lois Clark at fourth in A and B. Dianne Childs and Judy Hildreth placed fifth in A, while Barbara McCorkle and Bobby Patton were first in C. Virginia Hamilton and Barbara Merriam were second in C.
