Flu shot clinics to begin Saturday

Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department is putting on several flu vaccine clinics in Lawrence, Lecompton, Eudora and Baldwin City this season.

The department recommends the vaccine for everyone and urges people to get the shot as soon as possible.

Cost for the flu shot is $18 for infants to age 3 and $23 for people 3 years and older.

No one will be denied service because of their inability to pay.

Clients eligible for Medicare Part-B, HealthWave, Medicaid and Blue Cross/Blue Shield can receive the flu shot at no charge if they bring their card.

The department will have its first flu clinic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 2206 E. 23rd St.

¢ 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, Eudora City Hall, 4 E. Seventh St., Eudora.

¢ 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Baldwin Senior Center, 1221 Indiana St., Baldwin City.

¢ 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Lecompton United Methodist Church, 402 Elmore St., Lecompton.

¢ 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Holcom Recreational Center, 2700 W. 27th St.

¢ 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Oct. 25, Douglas County Senior Center, 745 Vt.

¢ 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 27, Corpus Christi Church, 6001 Bob Billings Parkway.
