Brownback funding plummets

? GOP presidential hopeful Sam Brownback doesn’t have much money left to make the strong showing he needs in the Iowa caucuses.

The Kansas senator has less than $95,000 in the bank, according to his latest Federal Election Commission report.

That’s a pittance compared with front-runners like Rudy Giuliani, who has $10 million in cash, and Fred Thompson, who reported $7.1 million in the bank.

Brownback raised about $925,00 over the last three months, less than the $1.4 million his campaign brought in during the previous quarter.

Brownback has said he will pull out of the race if he doesn’t finish in the top four in Iowa. Recent polls show him in eighth place with support from 2 percent of those surveyed.
