Media Members, I am going to be out of the office next week. If you need anything, Rick Gammill, director of special operations, safety and transportation, will kindly assist you. Ellen Willets is next week’s Administrator in Charge, so she will inform you of anything popping up on her radar from schools. Of course, you also have Randy’s cell phone number if you need him. I’ll be back on 9/10, which is a school board meeting night. Look for the Board Agenda to be posted by the clerk to the “Meet the School Board” page of the Web site on Friday, 9/7. I believe the Master Agreement (negotiated agreement/salary increases) should be coming back for board approval and the City of Lawrence proposal of constructing a bus lane off Louisiana Street at LHS should be coming back to the board for a vote.

Thanks, Julie

The children reported that the caller was a male who knew their names, their teacher’s name and their addresses. The caller asked them if they wanted to buy pickles. The principal advised the parents to report the calls to police. Since Schwegler was hosting its Parent Night last night, the principal and teachers informed parents in attendance about the reports. The principal also sent a letter home from school today with all students informing parents of the reports and encouraging them to review safe practices with their children.
