Twin recruits enjoy KU visit, but don’t commit

Twins Marcus and Markieff Morris appeared to have a good time, laughing at and cheering Kansas University’s basketball players during Friday’s Late Night in the Phog in Allen Fieldhouse.

“The Midnight Madness : it was big,” Marcus, a 6-foot-7, 215-pound forward, gushed Sunday after returning to APEX Academies in New Jersey with 6-8, 225-pound sibling Markieff.

“It was a nice visit. I knew it would be good. It’s a lot better than I thought,” added Marcus, who usually does the public speaking for the duo.

The Morris twins, who arrived in Lawrence on Friday, were back in the fieldhouse early Saturday morning to watch KU’s first official practice of the season.

“I like the players. There’s a lot of good players,” said Marcus, who indicated his brother, “felt the same way. It was a nice visit.”

The two, who played their senior seasons at Philadelphia Prep Charter High before heading to prep school this year, did not commit orally to KU on their visits.

They still have a visit scheduled to Villanova next weekend and possibly St. John’s.

“We’ll pick a school probably in the next two weeks,” Marcus said, not positive any more visits will take place. “We were so busy (on visit), we didn’t have time to think. Now we have to think about it.”
