Pathologist: No sign Diana was pregnant

London – Princess Diana showed no signs of pregnancy when she died, a pathologist who examined her body said Monday.

Dr. Robert Chapman, testifying at an inquest into the death of the princess and her boyfriend, Dodi Fayed, said he detected no physical signs of pregnancy, adding that signs aren’t always visible in the early stages.

Fayed’s father, Mohamed al Fayed, claims the couple were the targets of a conspiracy directed by Queen Elizabeth II’s husband, Prince Philip. He alleges that Diana was pregnant with Dodi’s child and that the pregnancy was one motive for the murder plot.

Diana and Dodi Fayed died in a Paris car crash in August 1997 while being pursued by paparazzi. Their driver, Henri Paul, also was killed. French and British police concluded that Paul was drunk at the time.

Quiet Riot singer Kevin Dubrow found dead

Las Vegas – Kevin Dubrow, lead singer for the 1980s heavy metal band Quiet Riot that scored a hit with “Cum on Feel the Noize,” was found dead in a Las Vegas home. He was 52.

The cause was not immediately known.

A neighbor summoned police and paramedics Sunday to the house where he was pronounced dead, police and coroner’s officials said.

There was no forced entry, and no suspicious circumstances were reported, police officer Jose Montoya said Monday.

Quiet Riot was perhaps best known for its 1983 cover of “Cum on Feel the Noize.” The song, featuring Dubrow’s powerful, gravelly voice, appeared on the band’s album “Metal Health” – which was the first by a metal band to reach No. 1 on the Billboard chart.

Determination of the cause of death was pending an autopsy and toxicology results, Clark County coroner’s spokeswoman Samantha Charles said.

Hulk Hogan’s wife wants property, alimony

Clearwater, Fla. – Hulk Hogan’s wife said in a divorce petition that she wants a share of the family’s two multimillion-dollar Florida properties plus alimony and child support for their 17-year-old son.

Linda Bollea filed for divorce from Hogan – whose real name is Terry Bollea – last week after 24 years of marriage. The petition says the marriage is “irretrievably broken.”

The marital assets that need to be equitably divided include the nearly 17,000-square-foot mansion in Belleair where the family lives and a 3,474-square-foot home on Clearwater Beach.

Pinellas County records place the market value of the Belleair mansion at more than $7.2 million and the Clearwater house at more than $2.2 million. The Bolleas also have a condominium under construction in Las Vegas.

Linda Bollea also seeks an unspecified amount for alimony and child support for their 17-year-old son, Nick, who was arrested this month in connection with a traffic crash that left a passenger with severe brain injuries.

Attorney doesn’t want custody files reviewed

Los Angeles – An attorney for Britney Spears asked a court commissioner Monday to keep county authorities from reviewing court filings in the pop star’s child custody dispute, saying it would be best for her two young sons.

The Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services is a “large bureaucracy with thousands of employees” where the details of the case could easily leak out, argued Thomas Paine Dunlap, an attorney for Spears.

The department is investigating Spears’ parenting skills. Ex-husband Kevin Federline’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, argued that if the court turned files over it should identify and release only relevant issues.

After Dunlap and Kaplan spoke, an attorney for the department asked for the hearing to be closed, and Superior Court Commissioner Scott M. Gordon’s decision was not disclosed.

Red Hot Chili Pepper’s house destroyed by fire

Malibu, Calif. – Flea isn’t soured on living on Malibu, even though a house the Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist owns in the coastal enclave was among those destroyed in the weekend’s wildfires, a spokeswoman said.

“Obviously he’s very upset,” said Gayle Fine, a spokeswoman for band manager Q Prime Inc.

Flea, whose real name is Michael Balzary, had been trying to sell the rental property, Fine said. He lives in another Malibu home farther north that was untouched by the flames, she said.

A real estate listing advertised the destroyed four-bedroom home for $4.8 million and described it as a “private 2.4 acre compound” set “in a botanical paradise.”

It was among 53 homes leveled by the blaze, which erupted Saturday.

Hollywood writers, studios begin talks

Los Angeles – The first day of a new round of contract negotiations between striking movie and TV writers and Hollywood studios has concluded, apparently without a deal.

Both sides returned the bargaining table Monday for the first time since the Writers Guild of America went on strike three weeks ago. A person familiar with the contract talks who was not authorized to speak publicly and requested anonymity said the talks will resume today at 10 a.m.

Neither the writers union nor the group representing studios would comment on the talks or reveal their location.

The writers went on strike Nov. 5 over payment for work aired on the Web. Writers want more money when TV shows and films are sold on Internet sites such as Apple Inc.’s iTunes.

Brown has most points going into finale tonight

Los Angeles – Melanie Brown emerged from Monday’s “Dancing With the Stars” ballroom battle with the highest score, positioning her to claim the mirror-ball trophy during tonight’s season finale.

Brown and her professional partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, earned 55 out of a possible 60 points for their cha cha and freestyle dances.

Coming in close second was race-car driver Helio Castroneves and his partner Julianne Hough with 54 points.

Marie Osmond and Jonathan Roberts collected 46 points for their two dances.

When judges’ scores are combined with viewer votes, the show’s third place couple will be eliminated at the start of tonight’s show. The remaining pairs will perform one last dance – their favorite of the season – which will help determine the winner.
